Hi my name is Shae Fitzpatrick and I am a freshman here at OSU Marion. I am from Powell Ohio and went to Olentangy Liberty high school. I work at Primrose (a private school) with toddlers and preschoolers. I want to be an orthodontist (for children) so my job allows me to be around kids which is what I love to do and that is what I will be doing when I'm older for my job also.

The House On Mango Street
The theme that stood out to
me the most was the chapter about the house. In that chapter it introduced
Esperanzas family and where she used to live which provided good back round
information for me. I liked all of the In-depth detail about the house inside
and out. I have seen this theme in many books and I like it because it gives us
an idea about the setting and where the majority of the story is taking place.
From the same chapter which is the chapter The House On Mango Street (chapter
one) my favorite passage was when Sandra Cisneros wrote “ Its small and red
with tight steps in front and windows so small youd think they were holding
their breath. Bricks are crumbling in places, and the front door is so swollen
you have to push hard to get in.” I liked this passage because of the way it
was written and how descriptive it was of the house. It made me feel like I was
there seeing it with my own eyes while reading the passage.
