Throughout all the profiles that I have read in this book, my favorite profile has to be about the Ink Specialist, Dawn Maestas. I found this profile to be really interesting to me because of her will to want to keep going forward about what has happened to her and make something better out of it for other women in the same situation. I also liked how even though through her first hand pain and experience that she still wanted to make it her passion and that really shows how strong of a women she is. I was interested in knowing how you came about being an ink removal specialist and what you had to go through to seek out the occupation.
With research, according to Tattoo Vanish, I learned that to become an Ink Removal Specialist you just have to take an online class costing $595, and then a two-day tattoo removal training at a tattoo shop.
This profile had an impact not on my personal life but on someone that is a close friend of mine. My friend Cami is in an abusive relationship right now and doesn’t know how to get out of it, her boyfriend beats her over her not going to class sometimes when she’s tired after working a long 12 hour shift, and although she’s unhappy and can’t get out of it she still finds a way to keep going and becoming the best her that she can. This profile made me think of her and how big a women she is.

I also really liked the ink specialist profile because it’s a very intriguing story. Abusive relationships happen all the time, and they need to stop. I like that Dawn Maestas is using her profession to help others that have been in a toxic relationship. She knows their pain and wants to do anything she can to help them. We need more caring people like Dawn Maestas.
ReplyDeleteI think its super interesting that the class doesn't cost much at all. that could be a great job for someone who doesn't have a passion for school.
