1. I really liked the ironworker's story or the guardians of the gate. I find it really cool that they have the bound that they do after working 25 plus years together. But the main reason why I like them is that they have a totally honest attitude to the people who are standing there alone for too long. "I'll just flat out say, are you thinking about jumping off this bridge" (Isay 123). If I was having to deal with these sort of people the way they approach people and the simplicity of it, just talk to them is the answer I would give people. They are probably better than it than I because I would drop down, talk to them a bit, then head back up because, at the end of the day, that decision if for them to make.
2. When it comes to Noramay's story and many other single mothers who had to raise their child during college. My mother was originally wanting to be a CS major like me but went into nursing because she had me when she was 18. She made it through working at riverside as an ER nurse for a long time when I was a kid, mainly, by herself until I was in the fourth grade. Thus I have respect for the decision of not aborting me and actually doing a good job of raising me.
2B. As a kid of two medical professionals, when the books say how rare it is for people to respond back is true. It's very rare to hear from those people if there are young to middle-aged. Thus hearing how they are doing brings a sort of peace most people don't realize doctors/ nurses get. My next point will be that because my stepdad is rising through the ranks it becomes a lot more administrative and thus can lose the feeling of being on the floor. So don't get mad at them for forgetting but do help them remember so that way tension will be less.
3. One question that I had is what is Cotlons store like? The best way to describe it is Walgreens but instead of medicine, there's food, like any grocery store and about the same size as one. The one I'm basing this off of is wider than long which his store is. Turns out Mark Zuckerberg went to visit his shop once and offer his encouragement. One vocab was the word FEMA trailer. It is the name commonly given by the United States Government to forms temporary manufactured housing assigned to the victim.

Hey Jeremy.
ReplyDeleteI also liked the iron worker's story. I liked how they just knew each other from working together for so long. I feel that this story was truly inspiring because they will save people from jumping the bridge. "Man, you know, things may look bad now, but it will get better"(Isay 123). I think it is awesome because they love their work, and saving many lives in the process.
