1) I liked the Nurse Esther. She would Always say " none of these things are your fault" (Beah 165) and Beah soon learned to believe her. She made a big difference in how he ended up turning out and where he ended up.
2) I think the rehabilitation did help him a lot . I'm not so sure if I would want him to live in my neighborhood afterwards but I do feel like he was helped. I personally would be a little scared of him so I wouldn't want him living that close to me if he wasn't 100 percent back to normal.
3) I liked the way Beah allowed us to feel what he felt all throughout the book. He made it seem so realistic like as if we were there ourselves.
4) my favorite passage was on page 145 " whenever i turned on the tap water, all i could see was blood gushing out. i would stare at it until it looked like water before drinking or taking a shower. this made us think about all of the horrible things Beah went through and all of the PTSD he has from the war to make him feel these certain ways.

  1. I also really liked how Beah allowed us to feel how he was feeling throughout the book. I feel like it helped me understand Beah better and even the book. It felt like we were in Beah’s shoes, and it was traumatizing at times.
