Research topic - Ashleigh

While researching about old school rap that is mentioned early on in the story A Long Way Gone, I had found out that it has affected Beah's life in a huge way. At a young age that Beah was at when he first learned about rap music he had a great obsession with the way the beat of the music goes even though he never understood it, or how black men can speak English so well and so fast. He liked the way it always took him back to his innocence when he was going through such rough times being a child solider. Rap was commonly spoken of instead of sung. Rap music had become a culture in A Long Way Gone as to its own clothing style, and body language. Beah had started his own group at the age of eight and entered a talent show. Beah and his group made up there own music by using beat boxing and dancing.
