| A Workaholic is when you don’t enjoy it, when you enjoy it it doesn’t seem like work. |
Thomas Mcarvey, the dentist.
The first conclusion me and my partner found was inspiration. When Thomas was 6 years old, his dad got crushed in a mine accident. He had to go to work to support his family. His dad inspired him to go work to help his mom out with the bills. He worked at the filling station. There a navy recruiter found him. He got a job and went to the hospital corps to become a dental technician. The reason he became what he is today was because of his dad.Another conclusion we found was to follow your heart and to have a passion in life. After Thomas had gotten into the field and was excelling in it. He had finally found a sense of direction in life. “I knew that no matter what was going to happen, I was going to become a dentist. I’ve never had such a burning desire.” ( Isay 50). If you don’t like what you are doing for your job you just simply will never be happy if you don’t enjoy the thing you do in life. “ you know, life lessons are our attitudes. So get whatever it is you want in your heart, and in your gut. And once you’ve got it , never let it go.” ( Isay 51).
My research question is, what does working to much do to your body?
You might not really notice it, but work stress canrelease the hormone cortisol, which is hard on your heart. This in turn can increase your risk for stroke, coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes, and even cancer.
I think your research question is really interesting. Its also extremely scary that all of this can increase your risk for stroke, cancer, and type two diabetes.
