Weapons of the Sierra Leon civil war (Josh)

Three weapons were commonly used in the Sierra Leon civil war. These were the  AK47, G3 and RPG. All of these weapons carried there own characteristics that made them the killing machines that  they were. The Ak47 for instance can discharge 600 rounds per minute and is light weight and durable. It could be bought for as little as $6 in Africa and quickly became the weapon of choice for rebels in this conflict. The Ak47 is known as the most mass produced weapon in the world even to this day. The second weapon used was the G3. This weapon like the AK47 is incredibly reliable and has a fast rate of fire. It can shoot 500 rounds per minute and was labeled a Marksman riffle in this conflict due to it’s amazing accuracy. The third weapon used was the RPG. It is a light weight anti tank grenade launcher that shoots a 5 pound warhead. Originally created in Russia this weapon has proved to be the basis for a number of anti tank weapons to this day.
